George Anderson

President

George Anderson co-founded Anderson Benson in 2012. He is a former member of the board of directors of the Insurors of Tennessee, Assurex International and The Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers.

George began his career with Aetna Property & Casualty and in 1986 joined the former Polk & Sullivan Group in Nashville. During his tenure with Polk & Sullivan Group and its successor organizations Synaxis Group and First Horizon Insurance, George acted in a variety of executive positions including serving as President of First Horizon Insurance from 2004 to 2009.

George is very active and engaged in Nashville, working to help advance and better the community. He is the board chair of The Metropolitan Nashville Parks and Recreation, serves on the Frist Center for the Visual Arts Development Council, is on the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp. Corporate Council and has been appointed to the 2019 NFL Draft Host Committee. He was also the 2016 Community Chair for the Legal Aid Society and serves on the Stewardship Committee for The Cultural Landscape Foundation based in Washington, DC.

George is also a member of Order of St. Andrew and an Archon of the Ecumenical Patriarchate. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the Wharton Executive Leadership Development Program.
